Via Ferrata

One of Whistler's most exciting adventures!

Experience this unique and exhilarating climbing excursion to the summit of Whistler Peak! "Via Ferrata" is Italian for "Iron Way" and is an engineered vertical pathway with permanently fixed cables for protection and metal ladder rungs to ease your movement over the rock.

The first and only via ferrata in Canada provides stunning views and a vertical perspective you may not have thought possible. Your guide will give you detailed instructions on use of the equipment and technique for climbing. Climbing a via ferrata does not require any special skills or prior experience.

Route

A moderate tour combining glacier hiking with mountain climbing. Negotiate your way across Whistler glacier then climb the rock headwall using a series of iron ladder rungs and cables leading you to the summit of Whistler Peak. This tour is suitable for ages 14 and up.
