Licenses & Planning

There are no time consuming residency requirements or blood tests required to get married in BC. A passport or official photo ID and birth certificate (and divorce papers or death certificate when one or both parties have been previously married) is all that is required.

Bring your photo ID and proof of divorce decree, if needed, to the address below. Licenses are issued immediately and are valid for three months.

The municipality has a list of private marriage commissioners to conduct your dream ceremony.
